  1. This dictionary was based on the en_GB Myspell dictionary 
  2. which in turn was initially based on a subset of the 
  3. original English wordlist created by Kevin Atkinson for 
  4. Pspell and  Aspell and thus is covered by his original 
  5. LGPL licence.

  13. - Words incorrect in Australian English removed
  14. - a list from the previously removed words with corrected spelling was added
  15. - a list of major rivers was added
  16. - a list of place names was added
  17. - a list of Australian mammals was added 
  18. - a list of Aboriginal/Koori words commonly used was added
  19.  
  20. A total of 119,267 words are now recognized 
  21. by the dictionary.

  23. Of course, special thanks go to the editors of the 
  24. en_GB dictionary (David Bartlett, Brian Kelk and 
  25. Andrew Brown) which provided the starting point
  26. for this dictionary.

  28. The affix file is currently a duplicate of the en_AU.aff
  29. created completely from scratch by David Bartlett and 
  30. Andrew Brown, based on the published 
  31. rules for MySpell and is also provided under the LGPL.
